What are ‘Access Groups’ in the SecurityPal app?
Access groups allow admins to define the permission level and library access for groups of users.
are role titles with predefined permissions. You can choose a “Role” to create a new Access group and assign this group selectively for only certain Knowledge Libraries within your app. This feature is mostly helpful for companies with multiple libraries based on their products.
Four access ‘Roles’ are available in the app:
- Admin - This role has the highest level of permissions in the app. Admins can edit the system and team settings. They can edit your library and edit and collaborate on the concierge dashboard.
- Editor - Editors can edit your library and collaborate on the concierge dashboard.
- Viewer - Viewers can view your library and collaborate on the concierge dashboard.
- Concierge Dashboard User - Concierge dashboard users can collaborate on the concierge dashboard.

Now that you understand access ‘roles’, you can create your own ‘Access Groups’ by giving it a title and assigning it a role for your preferred library:
- Only someone with an admin user role can create ‘Access Groups’. Click on your account logo in the right-hand corner and click ‘Settings’.
- Navigate to “Access Groups” panel and click on “Add access group” button. Enter title, preferred role and title to create your own new access group.
3, You can now leverage your newly created “Access group” by assigning them to your preferred user. See 'How to Change a user role' for more details.
